Call for light touch gardener

A green-fingered helper is needed at a Wisbech museum dedicated to the town’s most famous daughter.

Octavia Hill’s Birthplace House at 7 South Brink, Wisbech, is on the lookout for a gardener who is willing to join the team of volunteers which helps to run the first home of the celebrated social reformer and co-founder of the National Trust.

There is a vacancy for a tidying and trimming gardener who can provide some tender loving care in and around the museum on one morning a week, carrying out light, caretaking-type duties.

A plea has also been made for other volunteers to come forward to help to staff the museum – and no special knowledge of history or Octavia Hill is necessary.

Anyone interested in joining the team should telephone the museum on 01945-476358 or email  info@octaviahill.org , leaving contact details.
